"CREATIVITY IS MAKING MARVELOUS OUT OF THE DISCARDED"

Once there was an old bench hidden away in wild salal,
broken, rotting, and unusable.
Now it sits in between twin cedars and a large Japanese maple
on a path in the heart of the garden,
strong, beautiful, and adored.
It is named, The Birding Bench.
We sit there in the morning and afternoon, sipping tea while watching sparrows, chickadees, and robins
eat black sunflower seeds from a little house shaped feeder and from an old piece of maple that has multiple holes in it, perfect for holding seed, that we hung in the maple.

With fresh air, birds chattering, and the leaves rustling,
it is a perfect spot to reflect and ground oneself.
It's become my favorite spot in the garden.
