How to Make Potpourri From Flowers You Gather
One evening while sitting on my couch feeling a bit bored, a thought of something I hadn't tried before came to me. Drying rose petals and small flowers for potpourri. I've never been a fan of potpourri before, because I associated it with the store bought stuff. Making it yourself from flowers you gather is really lovely!
You simply just gather the flowers and petals and dry them.
I had spread the rose petals evenly across a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet & dried the petals out in the oven on 200 degrees for 10 to 15 mins, until they were crispy.
The small rose buds, lavender, and daphne I hung in a cool dark area in the house to dry. It took 3 days for them to dry out.
You then can put the dried petals and flowers in a jar and add drops of essential oils to it, like lavender oil or rose oil and then seal it shut for a day or two, so the flowers absorb the oil. I may add lavender oil to mine one day, but for now I am just enjoying the lovely fragrance that the flowers are still giving.
