Azul in August
The hydrangeas have bloomed and their hues of blue are spectacular. From royal blue to periwinkle and baby blue, they are like an ocean wave in the bishops weed among the hellebore and fir trees.
In the morning I sit among bumble bees and honey bees nectaring on the flowers. Bolted oregano seems to be a favorite of theirs.
One of my favorite residents in the garden is the Pacific Tree Frog.
I find their chorus and calls relaxing, especially on a misty autumn morning.
I can't wait for those!
This little guy was spending an afternoon in the yucca.
This summer I've kept the beautiful, but obtrusive morning glory at bay. In past years it took over a Lilac and Japanese maple tree when left unchecked.

It's still quite green around here, even with this horrible heatwave that seems to be never ending. Needless to say, I've been busy keeping the garden hydrated and alive.
