A Friend You Can Visit Any Time

A garden is a friend you can visit any time. 

It is always welcoming and has so much to share with you.

Sometimes it is soft spoken. You have to be quiet and still to hear and see what it has to share with you.
Like when the flowers say "hello", or when the wee visitor comes for a visit,
 the trees put out their buds and the fiddle heads and bracken fern are unraveling their fronds.

Other times, though, it is quite loud, making itself pronounced with all that it has to share.

I've found myself disappearing into the garden many times-in tears, in need of consolation and escape. 

It's always been there for me and offered such comfort from such an exhausting world.

It is also a place to share great joy in and a place to invoke peace and wonder.

When you're feeling up or down. 

In rain or shine.
From the morning hours 'til the evening light.
A garden is definitely a friend you can visit any time.

This is Obi-Wan Kenobi. 

He lives next door and is a frequent visitor in the garden. I sometimes see him rolling about or stalking the rabbits & birds.  He often likes to sit under low lying salal and ferns while watching all that goes on around him.

He is one of our favorite visitors.
We love watching him play and hunt.

Oh, to be a cat!

A garden is a refreshing friend, 

that brings so much warmth and happiness to our lives!

And like with any friendship, it takes love, work and time to grow such an amazing thing!
